History 1983

Along the way treats were passed out at Springfield State Bank by employees, Barb Schrum and Rick Smith. In the downtown area, Art and Darlene Adair representing the Springfield Boosters by passing out candy bars. At Santee Food Mart owner, Shirley Santee and son, Rick Santee along with employee Kirk Kingston, handed out treats to each elementary student. MAIN STREET ROAD WORK

Road improvements on Main Street from L A Bates to 10th Avenue are currently underway.  Residents should expect ongoing Main Street closures in various forms over the next several weeks. Depending on the need of construction, road access may be limited to only one lane or both lanes closed at times. Please be prepared to use an alternate route at any point.

Please be patient during this construction phase to improve Springfield’s Main Street.

 PLATTEVIEW ROAD IMPROVEMENT

Platteview Road from 2nd Street to 5th Avenue will begin this Fall with new asphalt overlayment. Please be patient during the road construction work and the associated lane impactment.
