The Capital Conference High School Volleyball Tourney was held on October 19, 1972. The Platteview High School team placed second. Team players selected for all-tournament honors included: Pam Brandenburg, Theresa, Kruse, Connie Laschansky,Kim McGuire, Bev Kracher and Bev Schliep. The 1972 Platteview High’s team was headed by coach Sherry Hahn. Jane Adair and Kris Norman were volleyball team managers. Coming in first at the tournament was Weeping Water with Raymond Central placing third. The team went on to play next at the Peru State College Tourney.
MAIN STREET ROAD WORK
Road improvements on Main Street from L A Bates to 10th Avenue are currently underway. Residents should expect ongoing Main Street closures in various forms over the next several weeks. Depending on the need of construction, road access may be limited to only one lane or both lanes closed at times. Please be prepared to use an alternate route at any point.Please be patient during this construction phase to improve Springfield’s Main Street.
PLATTEVIEW ROAD IMPROVEMENT
New asphalt overlayment will begin the Fall on Platteview Road from 2nd Street to 5th Avenue. Please be patient during the road construction work and the associated lane impactment.
