IT HAPPENED IN SPRINGFIELD HISTORY

In 1954 the kindergarten class at Springfield School included sixteen students. Laura Osborn was their teacher. The kindergarten classroom was in the lower level of the building in the south room.  One day students was dismissed early due to part of the plaster ceiling falling in.

 DRIVER EDUCATION

2021 SCHEDULE

Classes will be held on Zoom! 

PLATTEVIEW DRIVER’S EDUCATION SPRING CLASSES

INSTRUCTOR:                     Adam Larson

CLASSROOM DATES:         January 23rd, January 30th  & February 6th

CLASSROOM TIME:            8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

BEHIND-THE-WHEEL:         Driving arranged with the instructor

Requirements~

1.    Must be 15 years of age by the start of class

2.    Must have a permit to drive from the DMV of Nebraska. 

3.    Most students will have a Learners Permit or School Permit.

4.    All students must have access to a computer and email for online testing. 

5.    All students must complete 20 hours of  Zoom classroom instruction. 

6.    Limit of 15 students per session. 

7.    Students are expected to have some experience driving and will be required to pass a DMV certified road test.  The road test will be administered after students are  given lessons covering a variety of driving situations including residential, city and highway driving, parking, and basic safety maneuvers.

SARPY COUNTY HELP LINE

The Sarpy County Sheriff's Office along with Sarpy County Human Services has established a help line for the citizens of Sarpy County during the COVID-19 pandemic event. Starting today, people who are sick, elderly, or caretakers of this demographic in Sarpy County may call the Sarpy County Sheriff Helpline at 402-593-1593 for needs such as picking up prescriptions, groceries, or other necessities. A uniformed Sarpy County Sheriff's Deputy will pick up and deliver these items in a marked police cruiser. This helpline may also be utilized by the general public to make non-emergency police reports via telephone that do not require a police officer present in their home.
