SPRINGFIELD VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT

DRIVE THRU SPRINGFIELD EVENT

 SATURDAY DECEMBER 19

Bundle up the kids and step outside for a special treat on Saturday afternoon! We will be loading up Santa and heading thru Springfield at 2:30pm!

We will be escorting Santa, red lights and sirens - handing out goodie bags along the way. First we will drive thru South Crest, then Springfield Pines then off to the South side of Main and ending with the North. If we see you out we will make a pass!
If you have any pantry items you are donating for the Springfield Pantry, we will be picking those up as well - just leave at the end of your driveway and we'll grab as we go!

Covid Precautions

SARPY COUNTY HELP LINE

The Sarpy County Sheriff's Office along with Sarpy County Human Services has established a help line for the citizens of Sarpy County during the COVID-19 pandemic event. Starting today, people who are sick, elderly, or caretakers of this demographic in Sarpy County may call the Sarpy County Sheriff Helpline at 402-593-1593 for needs such as picking up prescriptions, groceries, or other necessities. A uniformed Sarpy County Sheriff's Deputy will pick up and deliver these items in a marked police cruiser. This helpline may also be utilized by the general public to make non-emergency police reports via telephone that do not require a police officer present in their home.

The following providers are participating in this program:

Walmart in Papillion
Target in Papillion (Groceries Only)
Bakers at 36th St & Twin Creek Dr
Bakers at 801 Galvin Rd (Pharmacy Only)
Springfield Drug (Pharmacy Only)

Please check the Sheriff's Office website and Facebook Page for any new updates to this program.

1940 Dodge

From 1928 to 1932 Kiger Brothers’ Garage sold Whippet cars. In 1934 they became the authorized dealers for Dodge and Plymouth automobiles and Dodge trucks in Sarpy County. Springfield resident, Chester “Chet” Alley became a proud owner of one of the first 1940 Dodge automobiles sold by Kiger Bros. Garage, similar to the one in the above photo.

 Lofte going digital

The Lofte Community Theatre is canceling their Christmas production of Making Spirits Bright.

But there is some good news! We will be offering the production online, free of charge as our Christmas present to the community. In the week before Christmas we will have detailed information on how to access and view this delightful production from the comfort of your home.
The health and safety of our patrons, volunteers and cast are important to us. Since we can't all gather together at the barn we hope you will enjoy the online presentation
If you have any questions please contact us at 402-234-2553.
