Welcome Back, Springfield!
Hey Springfield— I hope you made some amazing collage memories and enjoyed another fantastic year at the Sarpy County Fair. From the rodeo to the rides, and all the fried food in between—there was no shortage of fun, laughter, and summer sun.
Whether you were cheering on the parade floats, wrangling kids at Mutton Bustin’, or enjoying local music and fair food, we hope you snapped some great photos and made memories that will last all year.
What’s Coming Up?
Back to School – It’s that time of year again! Be sure to check your school’s website for important dates and supply lists. And don’t forget to give those bus drivers and teachers an extra big smile—we’re all in this together.
Fall Sports – Practices have started and the fields are buzzing with energy. Good luck to all our local teams. We’re rooting for you!
Community Shout-Out

Pickleball Is Coming to Main Street!
Big news from the Community Building: the gym floor has just been refinished and it’s shining like new! And now, we’re serving up something fresh...
Pickleball is officially coming soon! The court lines are in place, the net is on its way, and we’re getting ready to launch what might become Main Street’s favorite new pastime.
Whether you're a seasoned pro or have never picked up a paddle, this is your chance to get in on the fun. We’re even planning a Free Pickleball Night, where residents can reserve a complimentary hour of play to try it out.
Stay tuned—Main Street is about to get a lot more competitive (and a whole lot more fun)!

1988 TREE PLANTING CEREMONY
On May 2, 1988, members of the Sarpy County Home Extension Council Citizenship Committee
planted a Purple Plum tree at the Sarpy County Fairgrounds to celebrate National Extension
Homemakers Week. The officers of the Citizenship Committee included: Judy Kersten, Pat
Schneier, Trena Hagan, Audrey Olsan, Ruth Adolf, and Janice Errett. The event was also
supported by: Bob Woolman, county commissioner; Dale Harder, Sarpy County Fair Board
President; Ernest Olsan; Dale Harder; and Larry Kersten. All members of the Citizenship
Committee felt the tree was a wonderful way to celebrate and enhance the beauty of the
fairgrounds.

Insurance Tip– Do You Insta, Grub, or Dash? Let Your Agent Know!
If you're delivering for services like Instacart, Grubhub, DoorDash, Uber Eats, or any similar gig—even part-time—it’s important to notify your insurance agent. Why? Because most standard personal auto policies do not cover delivery or commercial use.
If you get into an accident while delivering and haven't added the proper endorsement, your claim could be denied.

-------------
Fit Tip of the Week - Just keep on walkin gand take the stair if possible. Walking is one of the simplest and most powerful things you can do for your health. Just 8,000 steps a day can make a big difference! So lace up those sneakers and get moving — Springfield has some beautiful spots to explore.
Local Spotlight: The Pollinator Garden
Take a leisurely stroll along the Springfield Trail and discover one of the city's hidden gems — the vibrant Pollinator Garden! It's buzzing with life: butterflies, bees, dragonflies, and a rainbow of blooming flowers.
A new flagstone walking path makes it easy to explore, with flower barrels and resting stones along the way. Perfect for a peaceful moment to pause and enjoy the view.
You’ll find it just east of Park Drive, tucked behind Dollar General.
Get your steps in, breathe the fresh air, and come see what’s blooming!

COME ON OVER!
This is the way country music started out, with acoustic instruments, before electricity. People sat out on the lawn, on the porch, or in a friend’s house and played their instruments together.
Enjoy the originality of music which is still present in many circles of friends.
