Welcome Back!

Hey Springfield, do you get up Before the Sun?

It's  a magical moment before sunrise — called civil twilight — when the world is still, the sun hasn’t yet shown its face, but there’s enough light to move, to breathe, to begin. If you’ve ever woken early in a new place — a hotel room, a tent, a borrowed guest room — and slipped on sneakers before anyone else stirs, you know this moment. It’s a traveler’s gift: time to explore before the schedule begins.

This time of year, the sun starts scratching at the window early, whispering, "Get up! Let’s go!" And while summer comes with the pressure to do it all, maybe it’s really about doing what fills your cup — Just do it!

You don’t need a gym to keep your rhythm. — just move. It doesn’t have to be perfect; it just has to be you. Fitness while traveling isn’t about burning off the buffet — it’s about keeping the promises you made to yourself, even on vacation.

So whether you're jetting off or staycationing, give yourself permission to not do everything — and instead do a little something for your body and your mind.

You’ll be glad you did — long after the sun has set on summer. I'm a get up before the Sun type pweson who loves these Dog Days of Summer!

And speaking of the stars... The library has a telescope you can check out. Perfect for spotting that Dog Star (Sirius), but only during these dog days of summer!

Pickleball Is Coming to Main Street!
Big news from the Community Building: the gym floor has just been refinished and it’s shining like new! And now, we’re serving up something fresh...

Pickleball is officially coming soon! The court lines are in place, the net is on its way, and we’re getting ready to launch what might become Main Street’s favorite new pastime.

Whether you're a seasoned pro or have never picked up a paddle, this is your chance to get in on the fun. We’re even planning a Free Pickleball Night, where residents can reserve a complimentary hour of play to try it out.

Stay tuned—Main Street is about to get a lot more competitive (and a whole lot more fun)!

Fit Tip of the Week – Accountability Starts With You

Let’s face it—what we put in our mouths shows up on our bodies. Truth is - we have the power to take control with your own Self Control.

Here are a few simple tools to help you pause and reset:

Splash your face with cold water – It snaps you out of the moment and helps break the urge.

Use a power count – Count to five with intention:

1: I need nothing
2: I am strong
3: I’ve got the power
4: I can do this
5: Walk away, drink water

Chew gum or sip water – This helps redirect your mouth and mind.

You don’t need perfection—you just need persistence. You already have the strength. Tap into it, and take one empowered choice at a time.

Insurance Tip of the Week –  Why Auto Insurance Rates Are Climbing

Auto insurance is facing significant challenges, and rising rates are a reflection of several industry-wide issues:

  • Repair costs are higher due to advanced technology in vehicles.
  • New and used car prices have increased, raising replacement costs.
  • Distracted driving has led to more frequent accidents.
  • Parts and labor shortages are causing delays and higher repair bills.
  • Medical and legal costs tied to claims continue to climb.

These factors impact the overall cost of insurance. To help manage your premium, ask about available discounts, consider bundling, and review your coverages regularly.

COME ON OVER!

This is the way country music started out, with acoustic instruments, before electricity.  People sat out on the lawn, on the porch, or in a friend’s house and played their instruments together.

Enjoy the originality of music which is still present in many circles of friends.
