IT HAPPENED IN SPRINGFIELD HISTORY

Newly elected South Sarpy School District #46 school board members were sworn in at the January 9, 1989 meeting. New members, Donna Ewer, Don Meyer, and Larry Wade joined existing members, Henry Lorenz, Dr. Gene Skluzacek, and Carolyn Wiese to form the district’s Board of Education. After the swearing-in ceremony, a discussion followed consisting of books, buses, and computers. New texts and a new 71 passenger diesel school bus were approved. The Board discussed adding IBM computers and printers to a networked system at the high school. With the proposed price of $46,769.00 school board members decided to table the discussion until the next month’s meeting.
