Blood Donation Opportunities
April 1 -15, 2015
Celebrate National Volunteer Month by
giving blood with the Red Cross
The American Red Cross encourages eligible donors to give blood during National Volunteer Month this April and make a difference in the lives of patients in need.
The Red Cross salutes the hundreds of thousands of volunteers who help fulfill its lifesaving mission and encourages others to join their ranks as volunteer blood donors. Volunteer donors are the only source of blood products for those in need of transfusions.
Donors of all blood types – especially those with types O negative, A negative and B negative – are needed to help ensure blood is available for patients this spring. Those who are unable to give blood can support blood donations and invite others to make a lifesaving donation by creating a SleevesUp virtual blood drive at redcrossblood.org/SleevesUp.
To make an appointment to give blood, download the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).

HAPPENING NEARBY
The Lofte Community Theatre will be holding a special event on April 24, 25 and 26. A.R. Gurney’s classic, “Love Letters” will be produced on stage with a rotating cast of actors playing the principal roles on different dates.
“Love Letters” is the story of Melissa and Andrew, and their fifty-year relationship as told through their letters to one another. Their sometimes funny and often complicated relationship grows, despite their geographic distance, through the power of the pen. This script has been produced many times on stage and screen and has become a favorite over the years.
Directed by Erik Quam of Omaha, Melinda Mead, Betty Colbert and Anne Pope will rotate the role of Melissa while Doug Rothgeb, Kevin Colbert and Jamion Biesterfeld play Andrew. Curtain time on April 24 and 25 is at 7pm. Sunday, April 26 will be a 2pm matinee.
Wine, chocolate and cheese hors d’oeuvres will be served to help set the mood for this romantic stroll down Lover’s Lane. Tickets for the event are $25 per person. Advanced reservations are suggested. Tickets may be obtained by calling the Lofte box office at 402-234-2553
