SPRINGFIELD PLATTEVIEW SCHOOL DISTRICT

COMMUNITY MEETING ON FACILITY IMPROVEMENTS

AND POSSIBLE BOND ELECTION

Surveys have been sent out to the community over the holidays to allow the district feedback on facility improvement planning since the bond election failed in November 2013.  You can also take the survey online at www.springfield-platteview-bond.com.  This information will assist the Board of Education on how to proceed in addressing facility needs moving forward and possibly going out for another bond election.  Your participation is critical to the future of the school district.  There will be a public meeting Monday, January 27 at 7 PM in the high school cafeteria to review results from the survey and for the Board of Education to hear community feedback directly.

Would you like to make sure your kids have the best sports experience possible?

The Springfield Youth Athletic Association (SYAA) is looking for a few volunteers to join their Board of Directors.  SYAA has openings for five Board positions and one Spring Fling Coordinator position.  The only prerequisite for these positions is a desire to provide boys and girls in the Springfield Platteview community a variety of opportunities to participate in sports and develop athletic and life skills through preparation and competition.

If interested, please join us for our next monthly meeting on January 15, 2014 at 8pm at the Springfield Memorial Library.  Election of the new SYAA Board of Directors will take place on February 12, 2014.  Current Board members are required to nominate new prospective members to be included on the new Board.   Once the Board is filled, the new Board will elect the officers for the upcoming year.
